Spring is here!!

Who needs breakfast at Tiffany's,
I would rather  go to a  yard sale!
okay,  so if you ask any of my friends they will tell you I don't just love yard sales, I am addicted to yard sales!

Ahh, Spring is here the most wonderful time of the year, Yard Sale season is about to begin!!! I look forward to this all winter long and when it is finally  Spring I will search Craigslist and the Towson Times for the best sales for the upcoming weekend! I have even joined a yahoo group, just so I know the date of my favorite community yard sale.
On Friday night I diligently make up our treasure map for the mornings adventure and add the yard sales to my FB page (I Love Yard Sales). Saturday morning arrives and my daughter, Cienna wakes up ready to go treasure hunting, this is our special mommy/daughter time together.
Cienna likes to search for Barbie's and Thomas stuff for her little brother, while I look for the next seasons wardrobe. After a morning of adventurous treasure hunting we arrive at home to share our wealth of treasures with little brother Quinn.
I have saved hundreds of dollars by shopping at Yard Sales for the kids clothes, shoes and toys and you can too!
There are a multitude of Yard Sales during the Spring and Summer to choose from it may be overwhelming so here are my tips every yard sale adventurer needs to know!
Michele's Yard Sale Shopping Tips:
1. Look for multi-family and community yard sales. This saves on gas and you get exercise while having fun.
2. Plan your yard sale route in advance and wear comfy shoes and dress for the weather, you can always take off a jacket if you get hot.
3. Have an idea of what you would like to find and carry a reusable bag or tote.
4. Go early in the morning, the good stuff goes fast.
5. Take plenty of cash in small bills, and take more than you think you'll need. But not more then you can afford to spend.
6. When buying electronics, ask to plug it in to test it.
7. Check for scratches on CD's and DVD's and make sure the outside cover matches what is inside.
8. I don't recommend buying car seats at yard sales unless you know the seller.
9. If you see a good deal on an item but don't need it, consider reselling it on ebay or craigslist, this way you make money while having fun.
10. Don't be afraid to negotiate - one of two things will happen, you'll get your good deal or they'll turn down your offer.
And most of all, have fun treasure hunting!
